Giving Thanks

It was an inspiration to read the Realtor.com article “2007 Good Neighbor Awards.” There was 300+ Real Estate Agents that were nominated for the Good Neighbor Awards program last year for going above and beyond to help their community. Out of the over 300 nominees there were five winners, who raised millions of dollars for their causes by volunteered nearly 8,000 hours — that’s an average of 30 hours a week for each one of them! If they can selflessly volunteer that much of their time it made me realize I could help too. Good Neighbors believe that one person can make a difference.
This time of the year always remind me how lucky I am to have such caring friends, to have a beautiful home, to work with a wonderful group of people, and to have my health. There are so many people less fortunate. I may not be in a position where I can give to charity organizations financially, but there are other ways to help our community.
That’s why this Thanksgiving I have offered my time as a volunteer at a local Soup Kitchen/Food Pantry to give back the only way I can. If you’re able to give (in any way) to those less fortunate this holiday season I’m sure it will be appreciated and you will know what it’s like to be part of the true gift of the holiday spirit.
Here is a list of some organizations you can contact for more information:
