The jest of the article suggests more New Hampshire resort towns are seeing active and well off-seniors who started visiting as vacationers are now turning into residents. The comfortable baby boomers are trying to make sure the advantages there children were given will be available to their Grandchildren. Lets face it the Grand kids would much rather visit Grandma & Grandpa over Christmas break if they have a ski condo, or take their summer vacation in the White Mountains and enjoy the same attractions their parents did when they were young.
One of these so called seniors is a regular golf partner of mine, he volunteers with the Handicapped ski program in the winter, skies with his friends in the Flying 50’s group most mornings, and plays Softball, golf and tennis then there is no snow on the ground. Truthfully I can hardly keep up with him with his energy level (but he can’t catch me on skis).
So before you sweat away your retirement in a southern state give some thought to a four season retirement, and a resort town that was set up for family activities & recreation. Lincoln NH offer one of the lowest property taxes in the state and the town’s area is over 95% White Mountain National Forest lands.
